in Shanghai offshore engineering jack-up platform construction platform

Our company currently has an offshore engineering jack-up platform in Shanghai , which has four hydro-pneumatic jack-up legs. The platform has a dimension of 41.26*26*3.3M, and is equipped with a SW5300 crawler crane (maximal lifting capacity:180T, and 36T with a boom 48M long), two 125KVA Gensets, an air compressor and several anchor gears. Brief Introduction of Offshore Engineering Jack-up Platform Ursula

Offshore engineering jack-up platform Ursula , imported from Germany , is a versatile offshore engineering facility capable of pile driving, lifting and rock coring. With its four hydro-pneumatic jack-up legs, the platform can lift the operation platform clear of the water, so that normal operations can be conducted in water depths of up to 27 meters, with waves up to 2m high, a maximal wind speed of 15 m/s (equivalent to Beaufort force 7, or Near Gale), and a maximal tidal difference of 4m. As a result, offshore operations can be conducted above the influence of winds, waves and tides. Its unique features make it indispensably suitable for offshore piling, installation and pile boring in deep offshore waters, which can not be conducted by normal pile driving barges that are vulnerable to winds and waves.

Currently, more and more harbors in China are becoming deeper, further away from the coast, with larger berths, and with more pile foundations. Accordingly, the structures of these harbor are also becoming larger, more inclined and deeper. Ursula will sure meet the requirements of these constructions.

Up to now, so such offshore jack-up engineering platforms are employed by domestic waterway engineering companies. And the introduction of Ursula will surely open up a niche market to accommodate the demands of China 's construction of costal harbors and sea bridges.

 

1 .Main Performances

 1)Main dimension: 41.26*26* 3.3M, Draught: 1.8M, Displacement: 1700T;

 2)The platform can resist a maximal wind speed of 15 M/s during operation (equivalent   to   Beaufort force 7, or Near Gale);

 3)Dimension of the Jack-up Legs (Quantity x Diameter x Length);

2 . Piling Performances

 1) Dimension of Pile (Diameter x Length): Ф1.6M*60M (including depth of water);

 2) Maximal Inclination of Pile: 1:2.5;

 3)Types of Applicable Pile Hammers: D62-12, D80-23 and D100-13 (to be equipped);

 4)Once the platform is positioned, it can drive piles within 8m away from the shipboard   

  (measured from the centerlines of the piles).

3.Lifting Performances

   Maximal lifting capacity of Ursula is 180T with the SW530 crawler crane;

   During normal piling operation, the lifting capacity of the carne is 36T with a boom 48M.

6 . Set-up of the Jack-up Platform and Pile Driving Procedure

 

Platform with Four Jack-up Legs ( Hull )

One crawler crane is mounted on the platform.

On the left shipboard of the platform, a pile driving rig is mounted, which can travel along the left shipboard within a range of 25m.

Two pile clamps are mounted on the pile driving rig, with one above the other. Each   pile clamp is equipped with a set of clamping arm (mechanical manipulator). The pile  clamps can place the pile in a vertical or slanted position in accordance with the   requirements of the piling work. The travels of the two pile claspers are all 5m.

First, the crane will hoist the pile in the pile clamps, then release hook to hoist the pile hammer unit.

The pile hammer unit is made up of diesel pile hammer, hammer cage, pile cap and hydraulic startup device.

Then, the pile hammer unit is hoisted to place the pile cape on the top of the pile. The inclination of the pile driving rig shall be adjusted if slant piles are to be driven.

Once all the above-mentioned preparations are ready, the piling work can be started by activating the pile hammer from the Control Panel.
